Last Updated on December 20, 2022

When the weather gets cold, the wind nips at your nose, and it’s starting to feel festive, you know it’s Christmas time. But not only do the usual slew of films come out, but that means for us horror heads, it’s time to watch some holiday carnage! And, while Christmas is over and done with for the year, holiday horror movies are good for a festive watch any time of the year! The original Black Christmas is a horror holiday season staple, but what about the remakes?

2006’s Black Christmas loosely continued the demented story of the psychopath killer, Billy, slaying a bunch of sorority girls. 2019’s Black Christmas eschewed this slasher storyline, and instead, went in a different direction with a supernatural patriarchal cult. Both have their own twisted version of holiday cheer, but which one should be thrown out with the fruitcake? Let’s grab some hot cocoa and find out: FACE OFF!

Now, we know what you’re thinking – the 2006 version of Black Christmas is NOT the original, but hey, to a whole generation of kids who grew up loving it, the Glen Morgan remake is their original, so who are we to argue? Let us know which version you prefer in the comments!
