I know you don’t smoke weed, I know this; but I’m gonna get you high today, ’cause it’s Friday; you ain’t got no job… and you ain’t got shit to do.
One of my all-time favorite comedies is FRIDAY, starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. It introduced the world to the antics of Tucker, who has since disappeared (although he has been sighted in SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK) and created a plethora of quotes that are still used, often annoyingly so, to this day. It’s one of those movies, much like ANCHORMAN, that you can watch any time and at any part. In short, it’s a classic. Instead of taking potshots, Honest Trailers takes middle-of-the-road approach, acknowledging the film’s classic status, while still pointing out some of the funnier inconsistencies and flaws. This is more of a “fun” Honest Trailer, rather than a roast. If anything, it’ll make you want to pop Friday in the blu-ray player and relive the craziness all over again.
