Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen come of age in Very Good Girls

Elizabeth Olsen has been taking names like it’s nobody’s business since MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, so I always enjoy her performances. Dakota Fanning, on the other hand, proved her acting chops at a young age, and I’ve been waiting for her to transition into the more “mature” material. THE RUNAWAYS was enjoyable for what it was, but I’m excited to see her take on a role with a little more meat for her to chew on. Enter your coming-of-age story in VERY GOOD GIRLS.

Take a look:

Not only are both the leads phenomenal, but writer/director Naomi Foner was smart enough to surround them with a ton of great supporting actors as well. As if the cast didn’t have me interested enough, I’m always down for a well-told coming of age story. As with any other genre covered in cinema, we generally get the male perspective more often than not, so I’m totally down for checking out the female end of things (so to speak).

VERY GOOD GIRLS, starring Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Boyd, Holbrook, Clark Gregg, Peter Sarsgaard, Demi Moore, and Richard Dreyfuss, will see a limited release on July 25, 2014.
