Rumors have been bouncing around that Dwayne Johnson‘s mysterious DC film is in fact the role of Green Lantern John Stewart in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, and maybe a standalone film as well. With BATMAN VS SUPERMAN pushing to 2016, rumors have escalated that all of the potential DC superheroes out there are coming together as part of Warner Bros plan to populate their DC film universe.

While Dwayne Johnson has still not revealed officially which role he is taking, did the star of G.I. JOE: RETALIATION and the FAST AND FURIOUS franchise reveal his Lantern casting months ago? Batman News dug up an old Instagram photo from Johnson. Check it out below.

Known this beast since he was 15. I was on the football field playing for Miami, he was leading the Hurricanes marching band as Drum Major. He spent years of working on my WWE story lines & Rock monologues. Then years of being on every movie set with me learning the film business from top to bottom. Today, he’s one of the best and most sought after producers in Hollywood. Brilliant, relentless and one big motherf*cker! Proud of you brother & thank you for all the hard work. #ProducerHiram #TeamRock #JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss

See that hashtag? It seems a very odd and random hashtag to put on a photo right before the news that the actor would be working with DC. Still, this is not a true confirmation but it definitely keeps the train rolling in the right direction. Putting Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Dwayne Johnson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Laurence Fishburne on the same screen and you have a star cast with enough firepower to compete with Marvel. Here’s hoping we get official confirmation soon.

BATMAN VS SUPERMAN hits screens May 6, 2016.
