Netflix has revealed its latest video game adaptation with a Dragon Age: Absolution trailer. Netflix is teaming with BioWare and EA for the six-episode animated series based on the popular fantasy-action video game franchise. Netflix is planning a December 2022 release for the series.

Dragon Age: Absolution takes place in Tevinter, the setting for the upcoming Dragon Age game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The show introduces new characters, making it easy for subscribers outside the circle to jump in. However, BioWare is notorious for connecting its games across multiple forms of media so that the series may relate to the games in some way. Fans of the series can expect to meet new warriors, mages, elves, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and more when the show slashes onto Netflix later this year.

Dragon Age: Absolution looks gorgeous with new environments to explore and savage demons to slay. The team behind the new series appears to have pulled out all the stops, blending CGI environments and hand-drawn animation to achieve a stunning, fluid world populated by willful heroes and mysterious wonders. The voice cast has not been announced for the new animated series, but that’s not going to keep us from getting excited about what’s to come. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been in development for what feels like an eternity, making the show a welcomed addition to keep fans at bay while they wait for the new game. I’ll be checking this out for sure, will you? Let us know in the comments section below.
