What does breaking shit and SEVEN have in common? What about having a little bit of faith and SLEEPY HOLLOW? Or better yet, what’s bridging the gap between doing it for the Nookie and THE WOLFMAN? You give up? It’s the upcoming horror flick PSYCHO KILLER, written by SEVEN, SLEEPY HOLLOW, and THE WOFLMAN writer Andrew Kevin Walker, and directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.
Who knew Durst was directing shit now, right? KILLER will actually be Durst’s third directorial effort, after the upcoming release of the drama THE EDUCATION OF CHARLIE BANKS and the Ice Cube comedy THE LONGSHOTS.
So what’s this KILLER all about? Not much is mentioned about the plot in The Hollywood Reporter, but Durst did have this to say about the project: It’s not a throwaway slasher genre film. It’s a very smart, really compelling story about a serial killer on a mission for Satan. It’s really interesting and the way it’s written – it’s so unique. Andy is an incredible writer. It looks like we’re going to go into pre-production around August.
And there you have it! Sounds like a flippin’ blast to me, yo! While there’s not a whole lot to go on, it’s a spin on a slasher film that’s smart, and let’s face it… SEVEN had some incredible writing going on with it, so I can only expect the same from Walker here. And as far as Durst as director? Well, I haven’t seen his previous two films, but what can I say other than that’s two more films than I’ve directed, and the guy’s starred in a buttload of other things, so… I dunno. I say he can pull it off. We’ll just have to wait and see.
