Apparently Robert Duvall hasn’t seen FRED CLAUS yet because he’s signed on to star in a Vince Vaughn/holiday film, FOUR CHRISTMASES. The film stars Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon as a couple struggling to visit each set of divorced parents at Christmas time. Duvall would presumably be playing someone’s father or step-father. Seth Gordon, director of the awesome video game documentary KING OF KONG, will direct for New Line from a script by Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson. I’m surprised that Vaughn would do two Christmas films back-to-back, especially when the first was one of the worst films of the year. WEDDING CRASHERS made him a superstar so he does a kids comedy and then a family comedy? Get back to the raunchy, R-rated stuff! New Line is looking to get production on FOUR CHRISTMASES going this December so it can get the film into theaters for the 2008 holiday season.
