Head Count Elle Callahan

Samuel Goldwyn Films will be giving Elle Callahan's feature directorial debut HEAD COUNT a theatrical, digital, and VOD release this Friday, June 14th. In anticipation of the release, today we have an EXCLUSIVE clip to share from the film that shows the very moment when things start to go terribly wrong for its characters.

Written by Michael Nader, HEAD COUNT has been described as a blend of THE THING, IT FOLLOWS, and classic urban legends like Bloody Mary. The story centers on

Evan, who joins a group of teens on a getaway in Joshua Tree. While exchanging ghost stories around the campfire, Evan reads aloud a mysterious chant from a website. From that moment, someone — or something — is among them. As unsettling, inexplicable events become more frequent, Evan realizes this summoned shape-shifting creature is targeting them to fulfill a deadly ritual.

The clip below shows the scene where Evan accidentally summons the shape-shifting Hisji by saying its name out loud five times. The characters mock the story of the Hisji, but they won't be laughing about it for long.

HEAD COUNT stars Isaac W. Jay, Ashleigh Morghan, Bevin Bru, Billy Meade, Hunter Peterson, Chelcie May, Tory Freeth, Michael Herman, Amaka Obiechie, Sam Marra, and Cooper Rowe.

The film was produced by Sam Sandweiss and Brandon Somerhalder, with Callahan, Hunter Peterson, Haoliang Harvey Zhang, Eric B. Fleischman, and Lauri Apelian executive producing.

Check out the clip below, and get ready to take a HEAD COUNT this Friday.
