Exclusive: JoBlo Takes Up Sword Fighting at Swordplay for Outcast!

In the new Nicolas Cage flick OUTCAST, there is a whole lot of sword fighting going on. With Cage and co-star Hayden Christensen, the two must fight a baddie the old fashioned way. With sword in hand, we at JoBlo.com had the fantastic opportunity to get a first hand look at what goes into bringing this type of action to the screen. And with the help of the very talented Tim Weske and crew at Swordplay in Burbank, California, I donned a sword and took a lesson in battle… and you know what? I think I could get used to this!

After a brief chat with Mr. Weske, I had my man TJ Cancula teach me the moves, and soon, I was battling it out with a couple of other talented fellows, Adam Conn and Brandon Pugmire. It is pretty incredible how easy these amazing gentlemen make it seem – and it ain’t easy, far from it. So a huge special thanks to Swordplay and the fine folks that helped make the experience unforgettable.

OUTCAST is currently available on VOD, with a Blu-Ray and DVD release scheduled for March 31st so check it out – you can pre-order it here. Battle on folks!
