First Look: Zachary Quinto in NOS4A2

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

AMC's upcoming 10-part adaptation of Stephen King’s son Joe Hill's 2013 novel NOS4A2 is all set to premiere in the summer of 2019. And today we have your first look at actor Zachary Quinto as the ancient, supernaturally powered Charlie Manx. Quinto's Manx is a character who is described as having the ability to periodically rejuvenate by feeding on the life forces of children as he transports them to a fantasy world he has created called Christmasland.

Zachary Quinto says of the character:

In the journey, they become these ghoulish creatures, and Charlie Manx is fed with vitality and youth.

On top of Quinto, the show stars Ashleigh Cummings as the show’s heroine Vic McQueen, who is "about to enter her senior year at a high school in Massachusetts."

Showrunner Jami O’Brien says of McQueen:

She’s a working-class kid who has such a creative mind that it actually gives her a kind of superpower. Charlie Manx becomes aware of her and realizes that she may be bad news for him, so he has to figure out pretty quickly what to do about her.

You can check out the first look pic of Quinto as Manx below and then get ready as it seems, even now before a single episode of the series has aired, showrunner Jami O'Brien is already making plans for a second season, saying:

There’s no limit to the number of folks that we could meet that have interesting powers and interesting landscapes that they inhabit.

I guess we'll all have to wait and see if we even want a second season of the series once its initial 10-parts premieres in the summer of 2019. But all the same, it's good to know that if we dig what AMC and the crew behind-the-scenes serves us up, more will soon be on the way. We'll let you know once we hear more on NOS4A2 but until then you can always head on over to Amazon and pick up a copy of Joe Hill's book for yourself or a loved one this Christmas… which would be super fitting… right over HERE.
