David Duchovny talks the return of The X-Files and Twin Peaks!

David Duchovny might be on the verge of being a very busy man. Not only is the actor preparing to launch his new television series "Aquarius" - in which he stars as a detective on the hunt for Charles Manson - but he may very well be enlisted to star in two legendary genre shows from his past!

As you're well aware, David Lynch and Mark Frost are in the process of resurrecting "Twin Peaks" for Showtime, while 20th Century Fox is planning a reboot (of some sort) of "The X-Files". Both series starred Duchovny, of course, and though he's tied up with "Aquarius" for the time being, he may have to make room on his schedule for one, the other or both.

In an interview with the L.A. Times, Duchovny talks about the return of "Twin Peaks" and "The X-Files"; asked whether or not the shows are indeed coming back, he responds:

Seems like it. I would bet on it if I were you. I think "Twin Peaks" is happening for sure. I hope my character comes back, I think she does. And then "X-Files" — Fox made some kind of shadowy announcement last week. Certainly, something's happening. Something's brewing. It's like the Eagles' greatest hits tour … by me.

You can't do "The X-Files" without Fox Mulder, so that case is closed. But Duchovny heading back to "Twin Peaks" would be a very nice surprise indeed. Let's see how this shakes out.

Can a reboot of "The Red Shoe Diaries" be far behind?

Extra Tidbit: Sure will be interesting to see Duchovny wear THIS get-up once again...
