The Arrow
interviews Julie Michaels

Gorgeous
Julie Michaels has her share of genre credits in her acting
backpack. She played the tough FBI agent who gave Jason an eye-full
in “Jason Goes to Hell”, she played the villainous spirit in
“Witchboard 2”
and she even did some stunts for “H20”. Arrow
got the chance to toss a couple of questions the Senorita’s way
recently and here’s what she had to say.

1) What’s your favorite horror movie?

Jason Goes To Hell, Friday the 13th
Part nine, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I was in it. It is entirely because of it director, Adam Marcus. I loved that he
toyed with the audience, and just when you thought the shot was
going to reveal Jason, it didn’t! Also I loved the fact that Kane
Hodder (the best and only Jason in my book!) made a cameo as a
security guard and called Jason a “pussy”!

2) You have considerable credits in both
acting and stunt work. Which one was your first love?

Acting will always be my
first love. Stunts are great because of the physicality, but you
are STILL acting!!!!!

3) I first saw you in the entertaining
“Road House” starring Patrick Swayze. Was it a pleasant
shoot?

Several things made this
shoot great. But mostly sitting with Sam Elliott, between shots
just shooting the shit!!!! He is by far the coolest cat on the
planet!!!

4) Were you comfortable with the nudity you
had to do in the film?

My boyfriend committed
suicide the night before I shot this scene. Needless to say, I was
a wreck. But I knew, if I could pull this scene off, I was TRULY an
actress!

5) You played the FBI Agent who whoops
Jason’s bootie in the opening of “Jason Goes to Hell”. Was it
fulfilling for you to be able to do what most “Jason victims” wish
they could’ve done to

“Hockey
puss” in the past entries?

Surviving is the key, not
only in acting…but in life!!!

6) Did you do all
of your own stunts for that
scene?

YES! Thanks to the
confidence of Kane Hodder, I did it all (now I know many actors say that, but
in this case, it is the
truth!)

7) In “Witchboard 2” you played a
villainous and sexy spirit back for revenge. Did you do anything to
prepare for the role in any way before the shoot or did you go in
“gung ho”? Watching you onscreen, you seemed like you had fun with
the part? Am I right?

There is a great story
behind this film for me. I originally went in for this film as a
blonde, and the casting director would not even see me, telling me I
was not right for this part. But I knew I was, as you say GUNG

HO! So I went home and dyed my hair dark and got my agent to get
me in under another name. I did get in and read and they said
“Perfect”. When I revealed that I was Julie Michaels, they were
stunned! Y
ou are right about
having fun. Kevin Tenney directed, and he allowed me to have fun.
It’s all about the director, folks!

8) I have yet to see Denise Duff’s Song
of the Vampire.
Can you tell us about your character of
Maggie and what kind of distribution the film had (I can’t find it)?

Song of the Vampire has
not yet been released, but will soon through Full Moon
Entertainment.
Maggie is the
comic relief of the film, and even though she dies in perfect horror
form, you will laugh with her up until her very end.

9) You’re listed as having done stunts for
H20. What particular stunts did you do for the film?

Fights.

10) Is
there a specific type of role
you have yet to play that you’d hope to tackle one day?

The true story of “Chris
Noel”. She was an actress in the 60’s that went to Vietnam to
entertain the troops and was kidnapped. I have written the
screenplay, and in the process of
getting it produced. Her story, down to her go-go boots and mini-skirts was amazing. Again, it’s all about
survival.

11) Of all the stunts you’ve done, which one
would you qualify as the most dangerous?

While doubling Pamela
Anderson, I hung from a helicopter 1000ft in the air. The producer
asked if I wanted a ambulance standing by. I said “No, just a large
shovel!”

12) What’s next on your plate…stunt or/and
acting wise? When will we see you onscreen again?

Currently, I am on “She
Spies” for NBC, and I am also hosting two shows. First is the
Extreme driving Quiz for TLC, and second is a show for FOX Sport net
called XRL.

13) Any advice for the future stunt-women of
the world?

Good Insurance!

I’d like to thank Julie for this interview and wish her all the best
in all of her endeavors.
