Jennifer Ehle is the latest to sign on for Jose Padilha’s Robocop reboot

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Jose Padilha’s ROBOCOP is building quite the cast, isn’t it? We’ve got names like Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson tied to this thing and today we’ve got yet another name joining the project.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that two-time Tony Winner Jennifer Ehle is in talks to join the sci-fi reboot. If she signs on Ehle will star in the film as ‘Liz Kline.’

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Ehle (above) would potentially be joining Oldman, Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, Hugh Laurie, Abbie Cornish (below), Joel Kinnaman and possibly Jay Baruchel in ROBOCOP, which has already been tapped with an August 9, 2013 release. I’d expect Ehle to sign on the dotted line any day. As always as soon as more ROBOCOP news comes our way we’ll be right here to tell you about it.
