Masters of the Universe: Revelation will pay homage to Hellraiser

At the end of last week, Netflix released the first trailer for the upcoming animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which serves as a direct follow-up to the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series from the '80s. Showrunner Kevin Smith has been discussing the show with He-Man fans on social media ever since, and one of the tweets he sent out really caught our attention here at Arrow in the Head, as Smith teased that one episode of Masters of the Universe: Revelation will somehow be paying homage to the horror classic Hellraiser (watch it HERE)!

The first five episodes of Masters of the Universe: Revelation will be available to watch on the Netflix streaming service as of July 23rd, and Smith said: 

In honor of the era in which @MastersOfficial began, each of the 5 eps in Part 1 of our series homages a different '80s flick!

Ep 1 – Superman II (80)
Ep 2 – Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (84)
Ep 3 – Batman (89)
Ep 4 – Hellraiser (87)
Ep 5 – Masters of the Universe (87)

While I'm interested in seeing the other homages he mentioned, Hellraiser has me the most curious. I'm also excited to see how the show will pay homage to the live action Masters of the Universe movie (which Arrow recommends!)

The show has the following synopsis: 

The war for Eternia culminates in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.
