New Polaroid poster tells us to beware this camera

Meh. The first poster for Dimension's new teen horror flick POLAROID is here and it's just kinda, meh. I mean I do think the premise of a killer polaroid camera is something that could be pretty cool, I just don't think it's the actual camera that, you know, is scary. It's the pictures it takes.

The marketing team, however, seems to believe vintage cameras are so horrifying that they have placed one front and center. I don't know, maybe they should have gone with co-star Javier Botet (MAMA) in his, I'm sure, newly horrific form within this flick.

But that's just me. Maybe cameras scare you or your little sister. In which case, print out this poster, sneak up behind her, and scare her to fresh death with it. Everyone else, just shrug with me and wait for the next one to come along.

Here is the rundown on POLAROID via press release:

From the producers of the THE RING and THE GRUDGE, comes the next iconic horror franchise: POLAROID. High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end. Based on the short by Lars Klevberg, the story mixes elements of THE RING and FINAL DESTINATION to create one of the most unique and scary films.

POLAROID stars Kathryn Prescott (see below), Mitch Pileggi, Grace Zabriskie, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana, Madelaine Petsch and Javier Botet.

POLAROID is set to be released August 25, 2017.

Extra Tidbit: This reminds me of the GOOSEBUMPS book, "Say Cheese and Die."
