New trailer and more posters emerge for The Last Witch Hunter

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

When the previous trailer for THE LAST WITCH HUNTER hit last month, it was noted by AITH managing editor Eric Walkuski that it appeared the movie would have some CG overload. A new trailer has now been released, and it seems like this one's main purpose is to say, "If you thought that last trailer had a lot of CGI, you ain't seen nothin' yet."

Although I've been rooting for THE LAST WITCH HUNTER enthusiastically up to this point, my anticipation level is starting to drop now that I see just how much CGI is going to be thrown Vin Diesel's way.

In addition to the visual effects, the new trailer also showcases a cover of The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" that is performed by Ciara and was recorded exclusively for the film.

Diesel is joined in the cast by Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, and Michael Caine, and along with a new poster that has Diesel front and center, promotional images featuring the four actors' characters have also been released online and can be seen below.

Directed by Breck Eisner, THE LAST WITCH HUNTER has this for a synopsis:

The modern world holds many secrets, but the most astounding secret of all is that witches still live amongst us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world. Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including KAULDER, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful QUEEN WITCH, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the QUEEN curses KAULDER with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Today KAULDER is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to KAULDER, the QUEEN WITCH is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race.

The film is set to reach theatres on October 23rd.

While we wait for that date to roll around, you can play with the Witches Revealed app and visit the website The Witches Brood, an online publication that explores the world of THE LAST WITCH HUNTER.
