The last update we gave you all on Oriol Paulo’s THE BODY (EL CUERPO) came way back in October. That’s three months ago folks. So you guys even remember this one anymore?
Of course you do! Why? Because it’s coming from Rodar y Rodar, which previously brought us the highly-acclaimed Spanish thrillers THE ORPHANAGE and JULIA’S EYES. And now they’re getting set to bring us THE BODY. Can’t really argue with those credits, can you?
News today spreading across these here interwebs is that Rodar y Rodar are finally moving into production on THE BODY, which is slated for release later this year. Shooting actually started yesterday! Excited? You should be.
While fleeing in panic, a man is knocked over by a lorry. When the police arrive, they discover that he is the night watchman at a morgue near the site of the accident. When they enter his workplace, they find that one of the bodies, Mayka Villaverde, a society personality, has disappeared from Room 3.
A detective is sent in to investigate the disappearance of the woman’s body from the morgue. A storm traps him there with the deceased’s husband — whom he suspects of foul play — as strange phenomena occur.
THE BODY is set to star Belen Rueda as the woman in flashbacks with Jose Coronado playing the inspector on the case and Hugo Silva playing the husband of the missing woman (corpse). Jaime Pena and Aura Garrido also star.
So there you have it folks! With THE BODY now in full swing we should be scoring more updates as this one dives deeper into production. As always as soon as any more news on THE BODY rolls our way we’ll pass that shite right along to all of you.
