Outlaws take on cannibals in the February release Drifter

Drifter Chris von Hoffmann

As a youth, my world was rocked by the release of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, a film about two outlaw brothers who seek temporary refuge in a strip club where the employees turn out to be vampires. I was so blown away by that movie, any other film that seems reminiscent of it gets a chance, and so director/producer Chris von Hoffmann's DRIFTER becomes very appealing to me when I hear that it's about

a pair of outlaw brothers who seek temporary refuge in a desolate town inhabited by a family of psychotic cannibalistic lunatics.

Not only do you have the FROM DUSK TILL DAWN set-up, but then you bring in a touch of some other favorites like THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES with the cannibal family element. Mix all of that together into a trailer that also seems to have a dash of MAD MAX to it, and my answer to the question "Will you be watching DRIFTER?" is an enthusiastic "Hell yeah!"

The film stars Drew Harwood, Aria Emory, James McCabe, Monique Rosario, Rebecca Fraiser, and Anthony Ficco. Emory also wrote the screenplay with von Hoffmann.

XLrator Media has picked up the North American distribution rights to the post-apocalyptic horror thriller, scheduling a theatrical release for February 24th. A VOD and iTunes release will follow on February 28th.
