Spoiler heavy The World’s End trailer reflects on the past

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

To be honest, when we first heard about Edgar Wright's THE WORLD'S END I wasn't 100% sure that it would be the kind of film that would be in our wheelhouse here on AITH, but once we saw the first trailer for it I knew it would appeal to more than just the comedy-lovers out there. Today we have a new trailer for the flick that takes a nostalgic look back at the first two films of the "Cornetto Trilogy" (SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ) while giving us a spoiler-heavy dose of what to expect with the final film. The more I see of THE WORLD'S END, the more excited I am to check it out!

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

THE WORLD'S END starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Rosamund Pike is in theaters August 23, 2013.
