The Kill Counter: Tremors (Video)

Tremors Ron Underwood Finn Carter Reba McEntire Kevin Bacon Michael Gross Fred Ward

Director Ron Underwood's 1990 creature feature TREMORS is one of my favorite movies of all time. That film's concept of underground monsters, things which would come to be known as Graboids, really captured my imagination when I first watched it as a child, and I continute to be fascinated with those monsters nearly thirty years later. But it's not just the Graboids that keep me going back to watch TREMORS again and again; I also love the fun, comedic, thrilling adventure tone of the film and the awesome characters that were brought to life by a cast that includes Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire, Robert Jayne (a.k.a. Bobby Jacoby), Charlotte Stewart, Tony Genaro, Ariana Richards, Richard Marcus, and Victor Wong.

Written by S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock from a story they crafted with Underwood, TREMORS has the following synopsis:

Just as Val McKee (Bacon) and Earl Basset (Ward) decide to leave Perfection, Nevada, strange rumblings prevent their departure. With the help of a shapely seismology student (Carter), they discover their desolate town is infested with gigantic man-eating creatures that live below the ground. The race is on to overcome these slimy subterraneans and find a way to higher ground.

TREMORS is a very entertaining 96 minutes long, but if you'd like to relive some highlights in just 9 minutes the latest entry in our The Kill Counter series has you covered. Not only does this video count the human deaths, it also includes the destruction of the Graboids.
