Whether or not you liked the first SKYLINE, which was directed by the Brothers Strause and released in 2010, the upcoming sequel BEYOND SKYLINE holds its own appeal, offering the chance to see the badass Frank Grillo (THE PURGE: ANARCHY, THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR) and the badass Iko Uwais (THE RAID, THE RAID 2) team up to fight off alien invaders.

Written and directed by Liam O'Donnell, BEYOND SKYLINE centers on

a tough-as-nails detective who embarks on a relentless pursuit to free his son from a nightmarish alien warship.

We've been waiting for this one for quite a while, it was filmed a couple years ago, but now the movie is about ready to be unleashed into the world. Its premiere is set to take place at the Sitges International Film Festival in October, and with that screening coming in less than two months a trailer for the film has arrived online.

There's nothing in the trailer that really blows me away, but I'm already guaranteed to watch this movie regardless because I want to see Grillo and Uwais knocking aliens around.

Grillo and Uwais are joined in the cast by Bojana Novakovic, Johnny Weston, Callan Mulvey, Antonio Fargas, Jacob Vargas, Betty Gabriel, and Yayan Ruhian.
