Trailer: The Blind Dead return in Curse of the Blind Dead

I haven't seen the late filmmaker Amando de Ossorio's entire BLIND DEAD series, but I do enjoy the first two entries, TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD from 1971 and RETURN OF THE BLIND DEAD from 1973. One of these days I'm going to get around to watching the other two, 1974's THE GHOST GALLEON and NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS from 1975… and giving me even more incentive to watch those films as soon as possible is director Raffaele Picchio, who is bringing the Blind Dead back in his film CURSE OF THE BLIND DEAD.

Coming along seventeen years after Blind Dead creator Ossorio passed away, Picchio's sequel has the following synopsis:

In the Thirteen century, a group of Satan worshipers, the Knight Templars, is captured during a ritual and brutally murdered by the locals. Just before the execution, the Knights swear to return from their graves to haunt the village and the nearby forest. Centuries later, in a post-apocalyptic future, a man and his daughter try to survive against both the Undead Knights and a sect commanded by a mad preacher.

That sounds about right for a BLIND DEAD film, but the post-apocalyptic setting is something new for this series.

Given that Ossorio made all of the BLIND DEAD movies up to this point, it does feel a little strange to see the sightless killers carrying on without him. Those decaying Knights Templar were a great creation, though, so I can understand why there's an interest in bringing them back to the screen.
