Iko Uwais returns to ultra violence in the trailer for Headshot

Iko Uwais took the cinematic world by storm with his action prowess in THE RAID and THE RAID 2. Given his action star status, you'd be surprised to know that the man has very few cinematic efforts under his belt. Well, he's looking to change that with his latest picture, HEADSHOT. In this film, Uwais plays a young man who washes ashore, an amnesiac with a serious head injury whose past comes back to haunt him shortly after being nursed back to health by a young doctor. Ultra violence ensues!

I know everyone wants to see Gareth Evans and Uwais team up for THE RAID 3, but the director stated that they would only be back when they "bring something new and exciting to the genre". In the meantime, I'll be curious to see what Uwais delivers in the genre. HEADSHOT looks like it could be a fun romp, and hopefully Uwais keeps the momentum going!

HEADSHOT opens in select theaters on March 3, 2017.
