Last week we caught wind that SUICIDE SQUAD was gearing up to do some reshoots. Now, reshoots happen all the time on big-budget films, but a rumor popped up that the main aim of these reshoots were to "lighten up" the film in the wake of the dismal BATMAN V SUPERMAN. By all accounts it made sense, but one of the actors has caught wind of these rumors and decided to throw in his own opinion. Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang, recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly regarding what's new in SUICIDE SQUAD land and maintains that the reshoots are NOT to lighten up the film.

Jai Courtney on the SUICIDE SQUAD reshoots:

I think there’s plenty of [humor] in it. I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier, there’s some additional action stuff that we’ve been doing, which is pretty dope. Really we’re just kind of adding in that sense.

There ya have it! So do you think Courtney is just sticking up for his movie, or has the internet let a rumor get out of hand? In any case there's a lot of folks still excited to see how SQUAD presents its villains, especially Harley Quinn and The Joker. Knowing that Affleck's Batman has a small role in it just makes the proceedings all the sweeter! Given that SQUAD doesn't have as much to lose as BvS, I'm thinking this flick will go down a lot smoother!

SUICIDE SQUAD hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
