John Boyega's time in the STAR WARS franchise will be coming to an end next month with the release of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, but the young actor still has plenty of projects over the horizon, including a new film from Jeremy Saulnier.

Variety has reported that John Boyega is set to star in REBEL RIDGE, a thriller to be directed by Jeremy Saulnier, best known for MURDER PARTY, BLUE RUIN, GREEN ROOM, and HOLD THE DARK. Not much is know about REBEL RIDGE at this point, only that it will be similar to GREEN ROOM in that it will be a "high-velocity thriller that explores systemic American injustices through bone-breaking action sequences, suspense and dark humor." Like Saulnier's last film, HOLD THE DARK, this new project will be making its home at Netflix. Macon Blair is also onboard as an executive producer, but I'm sure Saulnier will be giving his frequent collaborator a role in REBEL RIDGE as well.

In addition to STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, which hits theaters on December 20, 2019, John Boyega is also set to star in NAKED SINGULARITY alongside Olivia Cooke (READY PLAYER ONE), a heist film which centers "on an idealistic young New York City public defender burned out by the system and in the middle of a mental breakdown. Seeing signs of the universe collapsing around him, he gets suspended and decides to rob a $75M drug deal off one of his clients." Boyega will also star in HOLD BACK THE STARS with Letitia Wright (AVENGERS: ENDGAME), a sci-fi/romance which revolves around "a man and a woman who revisit memories of their love affair on a utopian Earth while they are trapped in the vast void of space with only 90 minutes of oxygen left."
