Jones on HB2

So with the trailer for HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY gracing us with it’s glorius presence yesterday, and a slew of new photos, I was wondering what would come next from the HELLBOY front that would make my entirely crappy day much better. To my expectations one such thing came along and it is in the form of a text and video interview with Doug Jones, who plays Abe Sapien.

We are all familiar with a subplot involving a love interest for Mr. Sapien, but Doug Jones goes into a bit of detail with ReelzChannel.com about the filming process and the character himself.

“In the first Hellboy, you got to know him pretty well, but he was kind of a one-note character. He was the intelligent guy, he was kind of a sidekick, a member of the team. He could read four books at one time, he was a clairvoyant. It was a nice setup. In this movie, you get to know Abe on so many more levels. You will be laughing for Abe, crying for Abe, you’ll be routing him on… You’ll see so much.”

Jones also briefly talks about the two other characters he plays in the film and hints to seeing them in later HB movies. Whether you’re new to the series, or a lover of the comics and film, this is definitely something to check it.
