Justice League: Snyder Cut video teases Steppenwolf vs. Amazons battle

Anyone who clicked on this article probably already knows the story. Back in 2017, director Zack Snyder was in post-production on his version of the DC Comics adaptation Justice League when his family experienced a major tragedy. Left with "zero energy" to argue with the studio over his vision for the film, Snyder dropped out of the project. Joss Whedon was then brought on to not just oversee the rest of post-production, but to also to write 80 new pages of script and direct two months of reshoots. The Justice League that reached theatres in 2017 (watch it HERE) was still credited to Snyder, but it was far off from what he wanted the movie to be. Which is why the four hour "Snyder Cut" (the theatrical cut was just two hours) of the movie, which Snyder has vowed will not feature any of Whedon's footage, is going to be released to the HBO Max streaming service on March 18th.

Whedon's version of Justice League featured a sequence in which the villainous Steppenwolf fought the Amazon warriors on the island of Themyscira, and Snyder's will as well – and given that Snyder's cut is rated R instead of the theatrical version's rating of PG-13, chances are the battle is going to be much more brutal than the one audiences have previously seen. Snyder took to his Vero account to share a short teaser video of the confrontation, using a filter that ensures we can't see much of the image. That video can be viewed here:

Whedon's version of the Steppenwolf vs. Amazons fight can be seen below.

Scripted by Chris Terrio, Justice League has the following synopsis:

Following the death of Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman and Wonder Woman recruit the Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg to form the Justice League and protect the world from Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons, who seek the three Mother Boxes.

The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciaran Hinds, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons, Joe Morton, Jesse Eisenberg, Joe Manganiello, Amber Heard, Harry Lennix, Kiersey Clemons, Willem Dafoe, Zheng Kai, Karen Bryson, Peter Guinness, Ray Porter, Marc McClure, and Jared Leto.
