Liam Neeson snowplow operator thriller Hard Powder sets February release

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Lionsgate/Summit has set a release date for the upcoming dramatic action thriller HARD POWDER starring Liam Neeson. Based on the movie KRAFTIDIOTEN, otherwise known as IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE from director Hans Petter Moland, HARD POWDER features Neeson as Nels Coxman, a local snowplow operator recently named Citizen of the Year of his small Colorado ski town for keeping the roads open through the winter. Nels’ quiet life with his wife (Laura Dern) abruptly spins out of control when their son is unjustly murdered by a local drug cartel. Taking the law into his own hands with only the tools of an outdoorsman and snowplow driver, Nels sets out to find those responsible but inadvertently ignites a gang war that threatens to engulf the town- unless he ends it first. I've got to say, the line "Taking the law into his own hands with only the tools of an outdoorsman and snowplow driver," has me in hysterics. Is this not the perfect role for Neeson, who in September of 2017 claimed that he was retiring from action films. Remember that? He even told Sky News that “Guys, I’m sixty-fucking-five. Audiences are eventually going to go: ‘Come on.’” Heh. Not me, Mr. Neeson. I want you to play these outlandish action roles until the end. I want you to be the Mr. Plow of the big screen, more than anything. Let's just hope that you're more sure-footed than a mountain goat.

Directed by Hans Petter Moland and written by Frank Baldwin, HARD POWDER also stars Emmy Rossum, Laura Dern, Julia Jones, and William Forsythe, among others.

Liam Neeson will star as the Macgyver of snow plow operators when HARD POWDER clears a path to theaters on February 8, 2019.
