Mary J. Blige stars in cop horror-thriller Body Cam

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige has really shown recently that she is a strong, capable actress, especially in the critically-acclaimed MUDBOUND, but even in more fun roles like Cha-Cha in the UMBRELLA ACADEMY series, or her role in the TROLLS sequel. Now she's starring as a cop dealing with supernatural forces in the horror-thriller BODY CAM. Here's the official synopsis:

When a routine traffic stop results in the unexplained, grisly death of her colleague, a cop (Blige) realizes footage of the incident will play for her eyes only. As the attacks mount, she races to understand the supernatural force behind them

Now, this isn't the first time a cop movie has been merged with a horror film (there's FALLEN, DELIVER US FROM EVIL, and even the Chuck Norris film HELLBOUND), but it looks like a potentially decent entry in the niche subgenre.

Meanwhile, BODY CAM – also starring Nat Wolff (DEATH NOTE) – will be available Digital May 19th, On Demand June 2nd, and DVD July 14th from Paramount Home Entertainment.

So what do you guys think? Any other "cops vs. supernatural forces" film worth checking out? Either way, sound off below!
