Alex Karpovsky talks Coen Brothers’ “wacky and zany” Hail, Caesar!

During an interview on WTF with Marc Maron, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS actor Alex Karpovsky shared a few details on the upcoming Joel and Ethan Coen comedy HAIL, CAESAR! Karpovsky is filming a scene this week with George Clooney, and he says the Coen Brothers' new film is similar to one of their previous movies, comparing it to 1994's THE HUDSUCKER PROXY.

So this week they’re shooting a movie called Hail Caesar here in LA. And it’s set in 1950. Really funny script, kinda more wacky and zany than their last movie, more Hudsucker Proxy.

Alex Karpovsky also says George Clooney is playing a studio actors who "gets embroiled into a situation that… uh… needs fixing."

While I love the Coens' darker films like BLOOD SIMPLE and THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE, I'm glad the duo are diving back into the screwball genre with their latest project. The cast for HAIL, CAESAR! is loaded with accomplished and talented actors including Josh Brolin, Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes, and I'm extremely excited to see the first trailer for the comedy.

HAIL, CAESAR! will be in theaters on February 5, 2016.
