David Slade to direct the Daredevil reboot

Matt Murdock now has someone new to guide him.

David Slade will be the one to helm the DAREDEVIL reboot for 20th Century Fox. Are you surprised? Excited? Let down? After getting passed over for THE WOLVERINE in favor of Darren Aronofsky, Slade gets to give the world of Daredevil his own touch.

This new Daredevil film will have nothing to do with the 2003 Ben Affleck version, just in case you were wondering, hence it being a reboot.

The article from Variety does not list a writer, though we heard back in February of last year that David Scarpa (THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, THE LAST CASTLE) would be penning the screenplay. So…did that go well? Maybe, maybe not. I guess we will find out soon whether he is still attached or not.

I’ve enjoyed Slade’s work, all except TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE. But it’s kind of hard to make any TWILIGHT film enjoyable. That aside, now we have to wonder who will get to play Daredevil this time around. I read yesterday that Garrett Hedlund is the one the studio wants for the role. In the same article they mention that Hedlund was the first choice for Captain America, but he turned it down due to the long-term agreement.

You guys happy with Fox choosing Slade?
