So it’s officially on– THE WORLD’S END has been greenlit by Universal.

The final installment of The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy brought to you by Edgar Wright starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will start filming this October and is currently in pre-production. Yes! A thousand times yes!

Even more awesome is that we have the first poster from the film as well as a plot synopsis. The story starts like this, “20 years after five childhood friends attempted an epic pub crawl. The friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.” Pegg and Wright co-wrote on the script.

The poster below names each of the pubs they hit up. It’s a great tease for the fans who have been eagerly awaiting the final installment of the trilogy. I know this will be just as awesome as SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ.

Check out the poster below.
