Hayley Atwell on if she would be interested in starring in an Agent Carter TV series: “Definitely”

It’s been rumored Marvel is trying to develop a television series based on Hayley Atwell‘s Agent Carter from CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and the most recent One-Shot, but many have wondered if Atwell would still play the character in a series. Hayley Atwell has talked about her love for the character in the past, however that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s willing to commit to an entire series based on the ass-kicking agent.

While talking to Digital Spy, Hayley Atwell was asked about Marvel’s plans for a possible television series:

“I read about that too. The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, ‘We want more of Peggy!’. I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it’s certainly something I would be a part of doing. I’d be interested to show different sides of Peggy.”

Atwell goes on to say she would love to play the character in a series and has really enjoyed working with Marvel.

“I think she could be a great role model and a great member of the Marvel Universe. I love the Marvel lot, they’re really great people to work with, so it would be nice to go back and work with them again. I’d definitely do it.”

Marvel should be taking this seriously. Fans obviously enjoy the character and if Hayley Atwell is game for a television series that’s good news for Marvel. Part of the reason why fans have taken a liking to Agent Carter is because of Atwell, and if Marvel had to re-cast for a television series, I don’t think people would be too happy about the news. But with Hayley Atwell interested in playing the character again, that’s one less thing Marvel would have to worry about and hopefully that means an Agent Carter series will happen.
