Thor: Love and Thunder: Matt Damon reportedly joining the cast

It sounds as if Matt Damon is planning a return to the MCU, thanks to Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder.

Damon recently arrived in Australia with where he and his family will have to quarantine ahead of him walking onto the set of Marvel's much-anticipated sequel. For the moment, no details related to the level of Damon's participation have been reported. This would be Damon's second time contributing to one of Marvel's Thor movies, after appearing in Thor: Ragnarok as a stage actor playing the role of Loki.

Damon joining the Thor: Love and Thunder cast was recently confirmed by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who said: “Hollywood superstar Matt Damon joining our homegrown talent to film such a major movie in NSW is a big win creating thousands of jobs for locals."

According to Damon, he'll be living in Australia for “the next few months,” which has me thinking that his role for Love and Thunder is far more significant than simply reprising his Ragnarok role. “Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it,” Damon said about the opportunity. He then added, "I’d like to thank the enormous support provided by the NSW government and Australian government, without which this would not have been possible."

Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson, and Jaimie Alexander. The God of Thunder's next feature-length adventure includes the return of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who is set to inherit Thor's mighty hammer, Mjölnir, to become Mighty Thor, the Goddess of Thunder. The story is said to be based on elements from the Marvel Comics series "Thor: God of Thunder" and "Mighty Thor," both written by Jason Aaron.

Who do you think Matt Damon will play in Thor: Love and Thunder? My hope is that he's playing Beta Ray Bill a horse-like alien of the Korbinite race. DO I think Damon is right for the part? Not exactly. I just really want to see Beta Ray Bill represented in the MCU. If for no other reason than I think it would be hilarious.
