Michael Rosenbaum is the next actor to take a swing at the leading role for Guardians of the Galaxy

I’m going to make a bold statement, if it even comes out that way:

Michael Rosenbaum is the best Lex Luthor ever.

There I said it. I can never take it back because it is on the internet for everyone to see. Sure, Kevin Spacey was awesome, but I could see Rosenbaum as Luthor into old age. Rosenbaum is definitely not a stranger to the comic world. He started doing voice acting in 1999’s BATMAN BEYOND, and has since done work on JUSTICE LEAGUE, TEEN TITANS, and BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD. So it should be no surprise that he has recently audition for the lead role of Peter Quill in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Oh, and he’s good friends with James Gunn. I’m sure Gunn also knows how charismatic that Rosenbaum is. I’d personally like to see the guy in more.

Rosebaum along with half of Hollywood, or so it seems, has tested for this role. Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace, Eddie Redmayne, and possibly (according to Gunn it’s a big “no”) Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi have all taken a crack at it. Rosenbaum announced the audition via his Twitter account:

What do you think about Rosenbaum for the role? Could Michael Rooker test too for the hell of it?
