One moves, the other doesn’t! New posters for Melancholia and Haywire!

Two very anticipated films for myself (and many of you) are Lars Von Trier’s “psychological disaster film” MELANCHOLIA and Steven Soderbergh’s A-List laden DTV-style action film HAYWIRE, both of which have been given new posters today. HAYWIRE‘s is cool if a bit too similar to the last one.

Meanwhile, MELANCHOLIA gets a motion poster! Don’t worry, your Flash player isn’t f*cked; Yahoo! Movies has the exclusive look, so give the image of Kirsten Dunst and Alexander Skarsgård a click to see it twinkle to life over there.

HAYWIRE kicks ass January 20th while MELANCHOLIA opens in theaters on November 11th. You can, however, watch Von Trier’s latest on VOD starting today. The film is photographically gorgeous, so I’d actually recommend the big theatrical experience if it’s available near you. Options are nice, though!

Haywire

Mallory Kane is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive.

Melancholia

In this beautiful movie about the end of the world, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and brother-in-law John (Kiefer Sutherland). Despite Claire’s best efforts, the wedding is a fiasco, with family tensions mounting and relationships fraying. Meanwhile, a planet called Melancholia is heading directly towards Earth… MELANCHOLIA is a psychological disaster film from director Lars von Trier.
