Owen Wilson may join Tina Fey for Paul Weitz’s Admission

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It’s been awhile since we mentioned Paul Weitz’s adaptation of ADMISSION. The news might have been a minor mention so it’s possible that you missed it.

Tina Fey has been toying with the idea of the taking the lead in the adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel. Someone else seems to be eyeing a role as well. Owen Wilson is thinking about playing the guy who falls in love with Fey’s character.

If Fey takes the role she would play, “an Ivy League admissions officer named Portia Nathan whose relationship with a 17-year-old recruitment prospect threatens to unravel her personal, romantic, and professional lives. Wilson, we hear, would play a teacher at an alternative high school who falls for Fey.”

Weitz (ABOUT A BOY) is set to direct a script from Karen Croner, whose last big screenplay was ONE TRUE THING which starred Meryl Streep and Renee Zellweger. The director hopes to set the film up over at Focus Features.

Let’s hope Fey takes this. I’d love to see her in this role.
