Jamie Anne Allman (The Killing, The Shield) and Derek Wilson (Rectify, In the Now) have landed recurring roles on AMC's Preacher pilot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. But like their co-stars Elizabeth Perkins and Lucy Griffiths, Allman and Wilson will be playing original characters created for the show, and not from the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comic.

According to Deadline, Allman will play Betsy Schenck, "a meek wife who appears to suffer beatings by the hand of her husband, Donny, but when the Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) checks up on her, though, she tells a different story," while Wilson has been cast as her husband Donny, "a Civil War re-enactor and abusive thug who gets into altercations with Custer but nevertheless shows up to church on Sundays."

It's looking more and more like AMC's Preacher is going to be quite different compared to the comic, which has me a little worried about the project. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are big fans of the source material though, and I'm hopeful that the duo know what they are doing with the small screen adaptation.

Preacher is expected to debut on AMC sometime in 2016.
