The movie trilogy is an odd thing. So many are near and dear to our hearts, and we get movie boners at the mere mention of THE GODFATHER trilogy or the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy–keep in mind I’m only scratching the surface. The odd part is, that rarely, if at all, do the sequels measure up to the first film in the trilogy. There have been so many stinkers to conclude a trilogy, it pains me to even begin going through the rolodex (damn you Wachowski Bros.) And yet, eventhough the painful memories outnumber the pleasant ones, I’m still a sucker for the trilogy. So is a fellow by the name of Danmeth, who has compiled “The Trilogy Meter”; a simple and accurate barometer of trilogies and their comparative success from film to film. Check it out below and let the debate begin!
