Mystery Science Theater 3000 fundraiser goal reached for new season

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

WE'VE GOT MOVIE SIGN!

Fuck yeah, it seems that the recent efforts to kickstart and fund a new season of the cult sci-fi series Mystery Science Theater 3000 has succeeded! In fact, it's currently 103% funded – exceeding expectations – and has thus introduced a new tier: "$6.3M and 2 NEW HOLIDAY SPECIALS!", which would of course be awesome! But even if that goal is somehow not meant, the crew on the Satellite of Love – including comedian Jonah Ray (as Jonah Heston), Tom Servo, and Crow T. Robot – will all be riffing on 12 new full-length episodes, as well as 12 new shorts!

Furthermore, the fan funding has allowed Mystery Science Theater 3000 to exist "*without* a network and [to] BUILD THE GIZMOPLEX, an online theater for live events!" Which sounds great! It was sad when Netflix cancelled the most recent reboot after only two (successful) seasons! Now with this new arrangement, it seems the crew has total autonomy!

But what do you guys think? Fans of the show? And if so, what're some of your favorite bad movies they've riffed? Either way, sound off below!
