New Deadpool 2 poster has a Chibi-style merc & friends riding atop a unicorn

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Earlier today it was announced that Tim Miller's DEADPOOL would be getting the Special Edition Blu-ray treatment as a way of celebrating the film's two year anniversary. Now, Fox has unveiled a new Chibi-style poster for the upcoming release of director David Leitch's DEADPOOL 2, which features an adorable Wade Wilson riding atop a rainbow unicorn with his friends: Domino, Cable, Colossus, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. It's the kind of image you'd expect to see Rainbow Brite hang above her bed, and one that's sure to prompt a die-hard Deadpool merch collector to whip out their … wallet.

You can check out the new poster below:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.

Reynolds helped write the script for DEADPOOL 2 alongside Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The sequel to Tim Miller's 2016 R-rated box office smash finds Wade (Ryan Reynolds) bringing together his own superteam, X-Force, to help protect a mutant kid (Julian Dennison) and grapple with Cable (Josh Brolin), a time-traveling psychic cyborg mercenary.

DEADPOOL 2 starring Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, Stefan Kapicic, Morena Bacarin, Bill Skarsgard, T.J. Miller, Terry Crews, Lewis Tan, and Brianna Hilderbrand will look to show comic book action movies how its done on May 18th.
