Seeing as how PHANTOM THREAD is the second collaboration between Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel-Day Lewis, and supposedly Lewis’ last acting job ever, to say there is a lot of anticipation for this film is an understatement. And with more information about the plot being revealed, and the trailer released earlier this year, it seems that the hype may be warranted. Now we have our first look at the official poster below. I like it! Very stylish and evocative, with a great symbolic visualization of the overbearing nature of Lewis' character, Reynolds Woodcock. It also just looks all purty and nice and such.
Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

Women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love. With his latest film, Paul Thomas Anderson paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, and the women who keep his world running. Phantom Thread is Paul Thomas Anderson’s eighth movie, and his second collaboration with Daniel Day-Lewis.
Meanwhile, PHANTOM THREAD will entice theaters this Christmas.
