Rough Night featurette about director Lucia Aniello reveals new footage

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I've gone on record saying that I'm looking forward to ROUGH NIGHT. I like how dark it seems to get in the trailer (basically it looks like a female version of VERY BAD THINGS), and I enjoy the cast. Even more than that, I'm a fan of Comedy Central's BROAD CITY, which this movie shares a star (Ilana Glazer) and writer/director Lucia Aniello.

So with the release date fast approaching, the studio has released a new featurette focusing on funnywoman Aniello, who is the first female to direct an R-rated comedy in, like, twenty years. Wait…twenty years? Holy shit, humans, we really let that happen? Anyway, however you feel about this film (and however it turns out), we definitely need to work on that crap. Anyway, let's take a look:

There's actually a lot of new footage (like the head plant Kate McKinnon does off a jetski), and it still looks funny…if a bit on the cartoony side. I'm definitely willing to give it a shot, nonetheless.

Meanwhile ROUGH NIGHT will drink its way into theaters June 16th, 2017.
