I was literally just wondering the other day what had happened with Ryan Reynolds' video game action-comedy, FREE GUY. Summer is officially over and this flick was at one time poised to own it! Then, you all know what happened in the world and it seemed that FREE GUY never earned a 1-Up. Well, I should have known to never count out a good guy like Mr. Reynolds because he and the rest of his cast have linked back up with the film's director. Shawn Levy, to remind us with this new trailer that GUY is still coming our way on December 11th, even if that date seems more and more unlikely given the state of the movie business.
Again, FREE GUY is about a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game and then decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way… before it is too late.
Joining Mr. Reynolds for the high-concept comedy are Oscar-winner Taika Waititi (JOJO RABBIT, THOR: RAGNAROK), Jodie Comer (KILLING EVE), Joe Keery (STRANGER THINGS), Channing Tatum (21 JUMP STREET, HAIL, CAESAR!), and Utkarsh Ambudkar (PITCH PERFECT, THE SIMPSONS).
