Seth Rogen's hotly anticipated Preacher series (which is based on the DC comic of the same name that ran from 1995-2000) hasn't walked into the sunset following the completion of its pilot. Rogen has just announced that the show will premiere on AMC in May 2016, also sharing a new poster, which you can check out below!

With influences from flicks like I SAW THE DEVIL, KILL BILL, TRUE GRIT, and THE RAID: REDEMPTION, Preacher promises to be an action-packed thrill ride that shows a heretofore unseen side of Seth Rogen and co-producer Evan Goldberg, working under their Point Grey banner.

Preacher follows:

Reverend Jesse Custer (Dominic Coope, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned His responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making Him answer for His dereliction of duty.

Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print – an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers – a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse.

The Preacher pilot was directed by Rogen and Goldberg and written by Sam Catlin, who will serve as showrunner. The cast also includes Joe Gilgun, Ian Colletti, Lucy Griffiths, Ruth Negga, W. Earl Brown, Elizabeth Perkins, Tom Brooke, Jamie Anne Allman, and Derek Wilson.
