There goes the neighborhood
The teaser trailer for The End of Oak Street felt very ominous and in the vein of what you’d expect from the director of It Follows and Under the Silver Lake. A mysterious, dangerous event is in store for our main characters. Now, the new trailer for the film has more of what you’d expect from a J.J. Abrams adventure that brings back the feeling of a Spielberg-esque Amblin adventure.
Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for The End of Oak Street and we get more dinosaur havoc with our characters having to survive the onslaught of the cosmic displaced threats.
The details on The End of Oak Street
The official plot synopsis reads, “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”
Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mother Mary) and Ewan McGregor (Big Fish, Trainspotting, Doctor Sleep) play the matriarch and patriarch of the main family. Joining them are Maisy Stella (My Old Ass, Nashville, Life is Strange), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth, The Monkey, Cocaine Bear), Jordan Alexis Davis (Defending Jacob, Just Between Us), P.J. Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street, I Play Rocky, Babylon), and Chris Coy (Black Rabbit, Lanterns, The Peripheral) leading the ensemble cast.
The film is written and directed by It Follows‘ David Robert Mitchell and produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper. The executive producers are Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker.
Mitchell’s team behind the camera includes director of photography Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino and costume designer Erin Benach.
Warner Bros. works in association with Bad Robot and Jackson Pictures. The film will be distributed worldwide, only in theaters, as well as IMAX, in North America on August 14, 2026, and internationally beginning 12 August 2026.
