The masked killers return in teaser for The Strangers: Prey at Night

Almost ten years ago, Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman were terrorized by three masked assailants in Bryan Bertino's THE STRANGERS, a horror film which I've always been meaning to watch, but have yet to get around to. Much like my own procrastination regarding the film, it's taken quite some time to get a sequel off the ground, although, THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT is described as being "inspired" by the 2008 film, rather than serving as a direct sequel. Whatever. Needless to say, the masked killers are back and are stalking a new family in the first teaser trailer for THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT. Johannes Roberts (47 METERS DOWN) has taken the helm this time around, although original writer/director Bryan Bertino returned to co-write the script.

The official synopsis for THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT:

A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Johannes Roberts directs this horror film inspired by the 2008 smash hit THE STRANGERS.

THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT will hit theaters on March 9, 2018.
