After unleashing an exciting new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Universal Pictures and Illumination shared a collection of vibrant character posters for Mario’s upcoming adventure. The Super Mario Bros. Movie character posters highlight several of the film’s star players, including Mario (Chris Pratt), Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Bowser (Jack Black), Luigi (Charlie Day), Donkey Kong (Seth Rogen), and Toad (Keegan Michael-Key). Each print shows a different section of the Mushroom Kingdom, from the haunted forest of Boo Woods to a Super Smash Bros.-style arena, a field full of Fire Flowers, and more.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie also stars Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. Aaron Horvath and Micahel Jelenic directed the movie from a script by Matthew Fogel.

Nintendo (and by extension Universal and Illumination) hope The Super Mario Bros. Movie becomes a massive hit at the box office. In addition to making their money back, Nintendo wants the animated film to serve as a springboard for other Nintendo adaptations for the silver screen. If Nintendo’s Mario movie makes as much (or more) as Paramount’s Sonic The Hedgehog, fans can expect projects for other Nintendo-related characters. Imagine a Legend of Zelda TV series (for real this time), a futuristic Fast & Furious spin on F-Zero, a Star Fox film, Animal CrossingKirbyFire Emblem, and Metroid. The sky is the limit if The Super Mario Bros. Movie takes off.

What do you think about The Super Mario Bros. character posters? I know there was some controversy about how Mario looks, but everyone looks outstanding. The trailers are full of Easter eggs, and the humor is on point. Everything is looking better than I ever could have hoped. Will you be there when the movie opens in theaters in April? Let us know in the comments.
