Bryan Fuller is working on The Vampire Chronicles with Anne Rice

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The last we heard on Anne Rice’s new go at THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES was when the author asked fans who they think should play the vampire Lestat in a new version. But that was way back in July and since then all has been (mostly) quiet on the Lestat and Co. front.

But today we have news via Paramount’s Amy Powell that Bryan Fuller (AMERICAN GODS, HANNIBAL) is now working on THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES series with Rice and her son Chris.

Amy Powell on THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES:

We bought 11 novels as part of the Vampire Chronicles initiative. Bryan Fuller is working with Anne Rice and [her son] Chris, who are writing the pilot. We are hoping he chooses to stay on and potentially showrun.

Bryan Fuller possibly acting as showrunner for THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES would be a major stepping stone for the already much-anticipated series, so fingers crossed that the man makes a commitment either way in the near future.

Until we have more news on Fuller’s involvement with the Anne Rice property, let us know what you think in the comments below or on social media.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE synopsis:

Born as an 18th-century lord, Louis (Brad Pitt) is now a bicentennial vampire, telling his story to an eager biographer (Christian Slater). Suicidal after the death of his family, he meets Lestat (Tom Cruise), a vampire who persuades him to choose immortality over death and become his companion. Eventually, gentle Louis resolves to leave his violent maker, but Lestat guilts him into staying by turning a young girl (Kirsten Dunst) — whose addition to the “family” breeds even more conflict.
