The last update we gave you on the Kevin Costner starring THE NEW DAUGHTER, which we first told you about way back in October 2007, came in September of last year! That's well over a year ago. Where the hell has this thing been?!

Well I know you've all been eagerly anticipating the Luis Alejandro Berdejo film so I'm here today to tell you all that THE NEW DAUGHTER is being released ... Today! That's right folks, it seems Anchor Bay are dropping this one in a very limited release today for Gold Circle Films. There's no official word on exactly where it'll be playing but the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting have confirmed that the supernatural thriller will be playing in some of the Regency Theatres while ShockTillYouDrop have confirmed that the film will be playing at the Dobie Theatres in Austin, Texas.

Well alright then. I'm sure a DVD release will be popping up within the next couple months so unless you're in a hurry to see THE NEW DAUGHTER, which I'm sure all of you are, you should be able to see this one soon. The film follows a man named John James, a single father who moves to a house in the country with his two children following a painful divorce. Soon, however, his adolescent daughter begins acting strangely, and the household is plagued by disturbing events. John begins to suspect that the mysterious mound at the edge of the forest may have something to do with her ominous behavior. Along with Costner is stars Ivana Baquero, Noah Taylor, Samantha Mathis (below) and Gattlin Griffith.

Extra Tidbit: Costner's last genre film was 2007's MR. BROOKS.
